There’s always room for you to join our family as we seek God. You can encounter spiritual truths and wrestle with questions in a safe and welcoming community. God is moving and it’s an exciting time!

We desire to reveal the truth of God and His unfathomable love for us all, His creation. Everyone needs to know that the Lord is good! After all, Jesus came to save the world, not condemn it (John 3:17). We serve an awesome God of miracles who loves us all beyond comprehension. We don’t just say it, we don’t just believe it but we know it. We have seen miracles, we have seen answered prayer and we’re only just starting. We invite you to get to know the Lord as well, there’s none like Him.

Why We Exist

FOR THE COMMUNITY

We believe the church is not a building but a group of people working towards one goal. We are passionate about telling people the good news of Christ, the salvation He freely gives and the extraordinary life He has purchased (John 10:10). As demonstrated by Jesus we are here to serve. We’re all about relationships; restoring them, healing them and strengthening them. We truly believe everybody has been “born for more” and consider it our privilege to help people realise this truth. People have many needs, our heavenly Father has the answers.

TO REVEAL THE LOVE OF CHRIST TO A BROKEN WORLD

At its core Christianity is not complicated. Jesus tells us to love one another as He loves us. As a church family we strive to manifest the love of Christ to those around us. Every person is special and loved and so many don’t know it. People lack hope and we endeavour with the help of the Holy Spirit to bring it to them. By building relationships with the community, we can change the world.

Our Story

HOPE Community Church Childers began in 2002 under the name of “THE ROCK” Christian Outreach Centre by Senior Pastor Perry Riddell. In 2003 Wayne & Debbie Leonard were appointed Senior Pastors of the church. Nigel & Jo Allwood arrived in 2004 and served with Pastors Wayne & Debbie as Assistant Pastors. In December 2008 Wayne & Debbie were called to pastor “River” COC Ingham, North QLD. From that time Pastors Nigel & Jo have been the Senior Pastors of Hope Community Church Childers. Although the name has been changed, the church has been mightily blessed by God, as we serve the Lord’s Vision. We are one of over 1,500 churches worldwide belonging to the movement, that is International Network of Churches (INC). Visit the INC website for more information (see button below). We are one movement meeting in many locations! What Hope Community Church Childers is a part of: The Vision, AUSTRALIA FOR CHRIST, is to see an INC Church in every local area in Australia. To do this, we need to train up and see released for ministry; Senior Pastors, Assistant Pastors, Youth Leaders, Childrens’ Ministry Leaders, Music Directors, Musicians and Congregations. Filled with a heart to serve God we aim to build bridges in the community. When we meet on Sunday, we celebrate and worship God with modern contemporary worship songs!
