Our 24 Hour Bank Account of Time.

To encourage you today, have you ever thought about how long you want to live for?Methuselah in the Bible lived for 969 years! Adam lived for 930 years! Psalm 90:10 says that in these times we are given three score and ten(a score is 20 years + 10 = 70), if by reason they be four score years yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off and we fly away. Psalm 90:12 says “God, please teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Life it seems is a race against time, so much to do and so little time. Every day the sun comes up each one of us is given a 24 hour bank account of time. When we use time we withdraw from our bank account; for our account will be depleted before the rising of the sun the next day whether we use our time wisely or not. Time misspent will leave us with regrets. But time spent wisely will give us peace and give us a heart of wisdom. Truth is, life is made up of “moments.” I’m sure that none of us really want to waste a “moment.”

What would this world be like if everyone you met today was just like Jesus?

Many years ago when I came close to death, I resolved to never waste a “moment” again. I said to my soul, Soul, we shall not waste any “moments” arguing, fighting, being selfish, whinging, complaining or judging others.  I’m still a work in progress. Can I encourage you today to think about the days you have left. I encourage you to ask God for a heart of wisdom. Wisdom to use what time we have so that we can spend whatever days we have left being kind, gentle, gracious, forgiving easily, thoughtful, honest, generous and loving.

Let’s make the most of the “moments“, hours and the days we have left to make a difference in someone else’s life.

A person who is all wrapped up in themselves makes a very small package. The past is past but the days ahead can be the most significant days of all! When you walk with God the best is yet to come!  God is asking for our commitment to get to know him more, to get closer to him, to become more like Jesus!  After all, Jesus is the only man that really changed the world in 33 years! What would this world be like if everyone you met today was just like Jesus?

Send that text! Make that phone call! Write that letter! Love your kids! Listen to someone with your heart! Look someone in the eye and tell them that you appreciate them! Pray with someone! Go! Make a difference! Be kind and love someone! Live a life that makes a difference because we never know when we will fly away.

God bless,

Pastor Nigel.
